Dynamics Research Corporation
Project/Contract Name:
Dynamic Research Corporation (DRC) / Joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal (JEOD) Decision Support System (DSS). Subcontract from DRC, PJE003, PJE009 and PJE010
Project Description:
The team conducted requirements analysis, architectural and detail software design, implementation, testing and documentation of the following software components of the DSS:
- Researched, developed and delivered a NLP White Paper. Document that provides an analysis of Natural Language Processing (NLP) capabilities in Information Retrieval. The paper compared and evaluated various software products available on the market intended specifically to facilitate the data retrieval process.
- Developed Reference Assistant Tool (RAT) Design Note.
- Designed and developed the RAT Graphical User Interface (GUI) Prototype Software which consisted on a Mobile Field Kit (MFK) prototype Java application that was used to demonstrate the anticipated user interface features. The prototype worked as a plug-in to the MFK UI framework.
- Developed and integrated the final RAT software with all third components.
- Conducted requirements analysis, design, implementation and testing of the Lexicon Management Portlet, a component of the JEOD Portal that was developed using a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). This component was developed as a portlet of the portal and also as a standalone java program.
- Researched, developed and deliver a State of the Art Speech Recognition Solutions White paper that provides an analysis of Speech Recognition Solutions capabilities in the mid 2005. This paper compares and evaluates various software Application Programming Interfaces (API) kits available on the market and recommended a preferred and mature product to be used to implement the voice services for the mobile field kit.
- Prepared the User and Technical Requirements Document specifying the requirements for the Voice Services for the mobile field kit.
- Designed and documented the Voice Services outlining requirements and design for the voice services for the mobile field kit.
- Researched, evaluated and selected and open source java based Natural Language Processing (NLP) engine. Wrote the code to integrate the library into the RAT.
- Provided on-site support to all activities in the pre-military utility assessment exercise in Oahu, Hawaii, where all DoD services participated.
Proposed additional value added applications and services
