The Improvised Explosive Device - Geospatial Analysis Tool (IED-GSAT Plus) is an essential tool to aid EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) personnel how to locate and configure jamming equipment to properly disrupt Radio Controlled (RC) IED remote actuation. IED-GSAT runs in the Windows-based operating system and is deployed in portable tablets and laptop computers.

IED-GSAT utilizes state of the art propagation modeling to simulate Radio Frequency (RF) coverage and interference plots for different transmitter/receiver wireless systems at different electromagnetic spectrum frequencies bands. The tool models after RCIEDs at different frequencies for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless systems:

IED-GSAT is equipped with modeling capabilities that have been validated and optimized for specific geographical areas. The propagation model incorporates a series of environmental variables such as terrain elevations, land-use land-cover, building structures, ground surface roughness, transmitter antenna patterns and ground conductivity, among others.
